It’s a big day in the world of “The Twilight Saga.”
Robert Pattinson, who plays vampire pin-up Edward Cullen in the dramatic franchise, posted his first (and last) Tweet on Friday on on-screen father Peter Facinelli’s Twitter page, to celebrate the senior Cullen netting one million Twitter followers.
“Thanks a million. Here’s Rob… Hi, it’s Rob… My first and last tweet. My dad made me do it,” R-Pattz Tweeted.
“At least you know he doesn’t have a [Twitter] account,” Peter continued.
And that wasn’t all the “Twilight” news of the day.
With “New Moon,” the next film in the series, due November 20, details of the movie’s hotly anticipated soundtrack are emerging. In addition to Death Cab For Cutie’s “Meet Me On The Equinox,” according to the New York Times, the soundtrack is expected to feature songs by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Bon Iver, Band of Skulls, Grizzly Bear and The Killers. An official tracklist was reportedly set to be announced on Friday but has not yet been released.
Meanwhile, on the set of the third film, “Eclipse,” stars Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart got up close and personal, director David Slade Tweeted.
“Yesterday Taylor had to carry Kristen for several hours, he held it together - hope he can lift his arms today,” he Tweeted. “Rain dumped on us all day.”

The film is expected to begin production in less than a month, and Slade is already hard at work scouting potential locations for a few choice scenes.
No, it's not going to be Italy, and the bulk of production will probably take place in Vancouver, British Columbia like New Moon did, but there will be a few choice scenes of importance in other locales as well.
For instance, Slade tweeted recently that after "[a] long day of scouting, [he] found [the] Newborn hideout and battlefield finally."
While he promised to "post pictures soon," he also said that he was "only adding locations [they] are not using at the moment until confirmed permitted etc."
He also posted a few shots of the crew, including Director of Photography for New Moon and Eclipse Javier Aguirresarobe and Production Designer Paul Austerberry. Aguirresarobe, Slade says, was "separated at birth with [the] guy" from the Dos Equis commercial featured below. The resemblance is rather uncanny, you'll see.

Get ready for more glistening goodness, horror fans! It wasn't long ago that the news of David Slade (30 Days of Night) signing on to direct the third Twilight flick, Eclipse, broke. This was a pretty interesting announcement for horror fans, and one that is developing quickly.Production Weekly says that Slade will be busy at Vancouver film studios from August 17th through October 31, where he’ll capture the trials and tribulations of Bella (Kristen Stewart) as she’s torn between teams Edward and Jacob. There’s also a rash of brutal murders tossed in there for good measure should you grow tired of the endless pining.
These movies are certainly on the fast track, and considering the phenomenal success of the first one, it’s not hard to see why. Will David Slade spruce up the material and create something out of nothing.
Look for Eclipse in theatres June 30, 2010.
